This dog breed has a large nose which is useful as it needs sensitive scent glands to sniff out their slippery prey. Otterhounds are affectionate but don't demand attention all the time. The Otterhound is an intelligent dog breeds, and can become very eager to please. They are not known for their attentive behavior during training so they will need a very patient owner. They need to be outdoors on a regular basis. After eating they are prone to bloat so they require frequent exercise.
